The Weather's ALWAYS Perfect at 24MOTAB!

Another perfect 24MOTAB! Rain! Wind! More Rain! Mud! Even more rain! Only the bravest, the hardiest, slow-in-the-head (?) showed up for a classic MOTAB slopfest. Mr. Sun showed up for a few brief minutes and we were treated to a stunning full double rainbow (it rained throughout anyway) and illuminated Dan P. (fresh from RAAM) for a spectacular start! Travis pulled an unusual tech strategy of having his chainring self-destruct before the race began! Fortunately with over forty years of combined mechanical experience the newly ovalized chainring was held to the crankarm with zipties and ridden the entire race!!! Did you make it home Travis? The bike pile was started in a three inch deep puddle/pond with a new element of bike tossing introduced making for an even trickier dismantling. Number plates were also introduced for easier identification of riders by the crowd in the stands. The Basco H8RS also represented for the first time. All riders rode hard as if it were 72 degrees and sunny out! The rain never stopped, the mud got deeper and corners more challenging, but in the end the results were clear cut. Zack took the first place slot and monster bike bell home. Patrick, another first timer, took second and modelled the 2nd place sucka ensemble with a runway chic usually seen only in Paris and New York. Philip kicked it old school/table top style in the temporary DFL jersey- 24MOTOCROSS? A big shoutout to all who braved the elements in the name of riding and having a good time on bicycles: Danimal, Vee, Phil, Travis, Katie, Jessica, Patrick, Zack, Dan P., Jen and the Basco H8RS- REPRESENT!

DMDR recap

No hang ups about who or what or where or when on this end. We came to have a good time and a good time was had. A big thank you to Phil and all involved; ya done good! A good hard ride with brutal climbs, heat with headwinds and checkpoints involving creek crossings, colouring contests, time trials, apple bobbing and generally confused waitstaff looking for menu prices to balance it all out. And let us not forget the Pain Train....oh the Pain Train... Frank, Vee, Michael and Djonn finish it. Right on. If you missed it, you missed it. mebbe next time. If you made it, well you know. A few pics here soon. if you want more let me know.
24MOTAB next Sunday. Trophy pics soon!
